Dental Fillings

Traditional fillings include materials such as silver, gold, and porcelain. Modern, more technologically advanced fillings can be made of ceramic and the latest composite materials. These materials are not only strong and durable, but they can be blended into your natural teeth in colour and style, making your smile as natural as ever!

Crowns and Bridges

A dental crown and a dental cap are the same thing. They are used to maintain a tooth’s function and appearance after a root canal or similar procedure. If decay has made a large portion of the tooth unusable, a crown may be used to restore the tooth. Crowns can also be used to cover implants, attach bridges, or mend a cracked tooth. Crowns can even be used for strictly aesthetic reasons, covering up stained or discoloured teeth. They are made of porcelain or state-of-the-art ceramic and fabricated to match your teeth as closely as possible.

Bridges may be used to replace missing teeth and can be made of gold, composites, alloys, or porcelain. They are bonded onto the surrounding teeth for support. Bridges can be fixed (permanent) or removable.

Periodontal Therapies

Periodontal treatment is for deep dental issues concerning your gums and jaw. Methods of treatment depend on the severity of the disease. Periodontal disease is caused by bacteria, plaque, and tartar in the spaces between the teeth and gums that irritate the surrounding tissues and damage the gums. Eventually, the infection affects the bone that supports the teeth. If periodontal disease is arrested in the early stages of gingivitis, causing no permanent damage, regular cleanings and improved oral hygiene will likely solve the problem. If the disease has progressed to a more advanced stage, scaling and root planing may be recommended. Periodontal surgery is a possibility if the disease continues to progress.

Extractions

When an extraction becomes necessary due to a broken tooth or immitigable decay, the dentist will extract the tooth under local anesthesia.

Repairs and Relines

We perform repairs and relines to your dentures and other dental appliances and prostheses to keep them fitting and looking their best.

Implant Restorations

If you are missing a tooth due to extraction or some other reason, it is now possible to replace teeth using dental implants! An implant is fabricated from metal and porcelain to look as much like your natural tooth as possible. It has two primary parts: a titanium implant body that replaces the missing tooth root, and the tooth-coloured crown that is cemented to the top of the implant. Implants may also be used to anchor dentures. Implants can replace missing teeth, negating the need for removable partial dentures.

Root Canal Treatments

Root canal procedure is indicated when a tooth’s nerve is invaded by decay or infection. This procedure can save your natural tooth and prevent the need for an implant or bridge to replace a tooth or teeth. Signs that you may have a root infection include acute tooth pain or sensitivity to hot, cold, or touch. If the dentist determines that a root canal procedure is warranted, she will remove the injured pulp and seal up the root canal system under local anesthesia.

Dentures

If you need dentures, we can take all the molds and measurements for our lab to create dentures as much like your natural teeth as possible, for both full and partial removable dentures.

Smoking Cessation

We offer a program for helping our patients stop smoking tobacco, to help restore and preserve their teeth from discolouration, staining, and smoking damage.
